QA Automation Lead

Hello

Here’s who I am & what I do

I’m a QA automation engineer who builds testing systems that don’t just catch bugs — they prevent them. I love turning complex CI pipelines into smooth, reliable processes.

Skills

Tools and technologies I use daily

AI-first mindset
Cypress / Playwright / Selenium
Appium / Mobile testing
API + UI Automation
GitLab CI / Jenkins / Azure DevOps
Postman / SoapUI
SQL / MySQL / Database testing
Cucumber BDD
Cross-browser / Optimization
Regression & flake triage
Stakeholder updates & reporting
AEM / Angular / React QA
Java / OOP testing
Agile / Scrum
Project management / Delivery leadership
Native mobile app testing
Test data management / Deterministic mocks
Quality dashboards & reporting (Hiptest/Testrail/Zephyr)
Black-box / White-box testing
AS400 / Legacy system support
BrowserStack / Cross-device lab
CI artifacts / quarantine flows
Performance-conscious waits / timeouts
Risk-based test planning

Experience

Regression suite cut ~60% (75 → 30 mins) via API setup + parallel CI.
GitLab CI/CD gates with caching, artifacts, and per-MR blocking on instability.
Flake triage with deterministic data/mocks and Copilot-assisted fixes + reporting.
Scaled coverage 84 → 1100+ scenarios; led offshore/remote QA teams delivering releases.
Playwright framework for AWS/serverless apps; CI-integrated E2E + API checks.
Multi-browser/mobile automation (Selenium/Appium/BrowserStack) across releases.

Senior QA Automation Engineer

ITPIE • Remote • 2024 – Present

  • Own end-to-end automation with Cypress (JS/TS) for web UI + APIs; lead a small remote QA team.
  • Optimized a full end-to-end regression suite from ~75 mins to ~30 mins via API preconditions, smarter waits, and parallelization.
  • Integrated Cypress into GitLab CI/CD with caching, parallel jobs, artifacts, and per-MR gating.
  • Added API-first checks for critical services to surface failures faster than UI suites.
  • Built data utilities (seed/cleanup), env config, and deterministic mocks to reduce flakiness.
  • Triage and fix flakes, pairing Copilot-assisted root-cause with quality reports (pass/fail trends, MTTR).

Senior QA Automation Engineer

ContinuumCloud • Tampa, FL • 2020 – 2024

  • Built and maintained a Playwright framework for AWS serverless apps and E2E scenarios.
  • Added E2E and API tests into GitLab CI/CD; sketched and implemented automated test procedures.
  • Identified weak spots, reviewed bug reports, and prioritized fixes to improve release confidence.
  • Collaborated with engineering to expand coverage and keep pipelines stable.

QA Automation Analyst

Royal Caribbean • Miami, FL • 2019 – 2020

  • Led an offshore automation team (3 engineers); drove multi-browser and mobile automation for releases.
  • Ran dashboards and daily health checks; increased coverage from 84 to 1100+ scenarios.
  • Built POCs for new features across Java/Angular/React; used Selenium/Appium/BrowserStack.
  • Established Jenkins jobs, intake processes, and verification points with stakeholders.

AEM QA Lead

Royal Caribbean • Miami, FL • 2018 – 2019

  • Managed offshore QA (6), led bug triage, release coordination, and risk planning.
  • Automated quality reports with Power Automate; shipped internal tools via CI/CD.
  • Tested APIs/services with Postman/SOAP UI; delivered automation POCs (Protractor, Selenium, Appium, BrowserStack).

Support QA

Royal Caribbean • Miami, FL • 2017 – 2018

  • Partnered with dev and offshore QA to keep multi-browser/device builds stable at release.
  • Handled hotfix testing, environment triage, and external testing requests.
  • Researched tools, planned/estimated tests, and maintained a quality-first team culture.
